Q : Who is Legal Loans South Africa?

Legal Loans is a services company based in Cape Town South Africa. We assist our South African clients' country-wide and deliver a premium loan finding and Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report service.

Q: What can Legal Loans offer me?

Our service is three-fold. First we provide you free assistance in finding a loan that suits your particular needs. We assist you regardless whether you have poor credit history; have judgments against your name or defaults. Secondly, we provide you, at a nominal fee of R395-00 once-off, Legal and ID Assist that is designed to provide you preventative and remedial measures in your time of need. Thirdly we offer you Credit Crunch Report that provides a summary of you credit status from the three largest credit bureaus.

The service lasts for a period of 2 years from date of activation.

Q: What are Legal Loans' criteria to assist my loan application?

In order for us to assist you in finding a loan we have to ensure that you are eligible for the potential money lenders/brokers and for our service. You have to be a South African citizen, aged between 18- 65 years and not have had filed for bankruptcy, placed under administration, debt review or under any debt restructuring. Don't worry though, we will ask you the full list of criteria when we assist you with the loan search application. We will ask you qualifying questions for our Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report service too.

Q. Will you run a credit check on me?

No, we do not run credit checks on our applicants, though some money lenders / brokers may choose to do so.

Q. Can I apply if I have a bad credit history?

Finding suitable loans for South Africans who have poor credit rating or had judgments against their names is our specialty. We encourage you to apply at Legal Loans as we can help find you the loan that may help you meet your short term financial goals.

Q. How long until I know the outcome of my loan application?

We will SMS your application outcome for Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report services within minutes of receiving notification whether you're application has been successful. If you are successful, we will forward your details to our panel of lenders/brokers to start finding the loan you are looking for.

Q. What is the amount I am able to borrow?

We are able to find you suitable money lenders who can lend from R2000 up to R150 000. The amount that is borrowed is dependent on your criteria, situation and subject to the moneylender / broker.

Q. When will I expect the payout?

Our lenders / money brokers aim to payout within 3-5 days.

Q. How can apply for a loan?

For your convenience you are can apply either online or by calling our call centre.

Q. What happens once I have applied?

We will SMS your application outcome for Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report services within minutes of receiving notification whether you have been successful or unsuccessful for our Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report service. If you are successful for the Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report, we will forward your details to our panel of lenders/brokers. They will access your application and if successful for the loan, they aim to payout within 3-5 days!

Q. I am married. Is it necessary that I include my spouse regarding the loan finding process?

No, it is not necessary to include your spouse but if you choose to, you can.

Q. How many times can I request a loan search application?

You can contact us should you wish to extend the Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report service for a further 2 years and we would be happy to assist you.

Q. How long until I have to repay the loan?

The terms of loan repayment is subject to the terms and conditions provided by the money lender. Each application is unique and as such your money lender / broker would best be able to give advice. Generally, personal loans have a repayment period between 12 and 72 months and are subject to what you qualify for and can afford.

Q. What does it mean to be a Legal Loans Client?

It means you have qualified for our Legal and ID Assist Plan and Credit Crunch Report service and have access to 2 years top preventative and remedial measures. In addition, your free loan finding service has also been activated.

The Credit Crunch Report will provide a summary of your credit status from the three largest credit bureaux, Experian, Transunion (formerly known as ITC) and XDS.

The great thing about the snapshot is that the information provided is easy to read and understand. As an added benefit, it provides you with a credit score and additional information so that you can determine your creditworthiness.

Q. How do I cancel my 3-in-1 package?

Let’s quickly review what your R395 once off fee purchased. The 3-in-1 package gives you access to 2 years of Legal cover for all matters relating to civil, criminal and labour litigation. Our lawyers will advise you on matters like criminal offenses, fines, debt, contracts, labour matters, motor vehicle accidents as well as Road Accident Fund claims. Our panel of lawyers is available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Added to the advice, we will provide you with ready to go kits: divorce kits, small claims kits, child maintenance kits, lease agreements and last will and testament.

ID Assist Is a 24 hour telephonic advice line manned by qualified and experienced in-house attorneys which offers preventative and remedial measures when identity fraud, loss or theft is experienced. When identity loss or theft is experienced, we will primarily assist you in preventing any of identity information from being used illegally. We will put you in touch with the relevant institutions or companies to block or stop cards or contracts.

Credit Crunch Report will provide a summary of your credit status from the three largest credit bureaux, Experian, Transunion (formerly known as ITC) and XDS. The great thing about the snapshot is that the information provided is easy to read and understand. As an added benefit, it provides you with a credit score and additional information so that you can determine your creditworthiness. And of course we also offer you a free loan-finding service.
